As many as seven students from Cornell in USA along with five from Irula and Kurumba tribal communities graduated after a 15-week long course from the Nilgiris Field Training Centre (NLFC).
NFLC is a joint initiative between Keystone Foundation, Kotagiri and Cornell University, Ithaca, U.S.
District Collector P. Shankar gave away the certificates to the first batch and heard presentations from students on: infant feeding, exploring Kurumba health perspectives, dietary diversity, forest rights act, and water.
NFLC is a 15-week spring semester course where Cornell and indigenous students undertake a unique journey of transformative education through practice, classes, and field visits.
