State Balanced Growth Fund works inspected

State Planning Commission Vice-Chairperson Santhasheela Nair inspected the development works executed in this district using State Balanced Growth Fund (SBGF) on Friday.

She has also reviewed the status of District Human Development Report that is being prepared.

Ms. Nair made a trip to Jawadu hills and met several SBGF beneficiaries. She visited Nammiyampattu Primary Health Centre to which Rs.1.45 crore has been allotted for several development works. She asked officials to expedite execution of those works.

At Arasavalli village, she inspected one of the 40 evening education centres began for the benefit of tribal students, for which government had allotted Rs.11.6 lakh.

Launch

Ms. Nair formally launched Asola (a fodder) cultivation programme, for which the government has allotted Rs.4.19 lakh, at Bargur village. District Collector A. Gnanasekaran; Head of Division, State Planning Commission P. Selvaraj and Project Director, District Rural Development Agency, J. Sampath accompanied her during the campaign.
