Spotted deer killed by dogs

A couple of spotted deer, which entered the village abutting the reserve forests near Attur, were killed by stray dogs recently.

The animals strayed into Thumbal village on Wednesday in search of water. A group of stray dogs chased both the deer and bit them. Both the deer died on the spot.

The local people informed the forest personnel, who rushed to the spot and retrieved the carcasses. Later, a post-mortem examination was conducted by veterinary surgeons on them at Pappanayakkanpatti forest check post
