The Department of Social Defence has invited applications for the post of social worker members for Juvenile Justice Board and members of Child Welfare Committee for the district.
A press release from Collector V. Dakshinamoorthy said that residents of Namakkal, actively involved in health, education or welfare activities pertaining to children for at least seven years and in the age group of 35 to 65 years are eligible.
They should possess a bachelor’s degree and preference will be given to persons having degree in social sciences such as criminology, psychology, sociology, social work, economics, home science, education, political science, rural development, law or medicine and studies pertaining to women. The existing members can also apply for appointment for a second term. The chairperson and members of the committee or board shall be eligible for appointment for a maximum of two terms only, the release said.

departments/30and filled-in-applications should be sent to Commissionerate of Social Defence, 300, Purasawalkam High Road, Kellys, Chennai - 10 within 15 days. Separate applications may be submitted for Social Worker, member in the Juvenile Justice Board and Chairperson and Members of Child Welfare Committee. The appointment will be based purely on merit and experience.
