A six-year-old girl, who was spending the summer vacation at her grandmother’s home, was raped by two cousins aged 14 in Bannerghatta on Saturday.
The victim, a resident of South-East Bengaluru, and her 10-year-old brother were playing with the 14-year-old boys in front of the house.
The two accused took the girl to a nearby isolated place and raped her, said police sources.
The victim’s brother, who went looking for her, found them in the act.
He immediately rushed back home to inform his grandmother.
Based on the complaint, the Bannerghatta police registered a case under POCSO Act and detained one of the accused while the other boy is absconding.
“We are waiting for the medical report before acting further,” an officer said.
