Shelve NEET for now, urges Ramadoss

PMK founder Ramadoss has urged the Centre to postpone the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for medical colleges until a consensus is reached among States and the syllabus is upgraded on a par with the Central Board of Secondary Eeducation curriculum.

In a statement, Dr. Ramadoss welcomed the move to postpone a single entrance test for engineering courses across the country.

“The move was based on States saying that their syllabus is not on a par with the CBSE.”

Mr. Ramadoss said the same logic could be applied to NEET.

He also pointed to the confusion in the recent NEET held recently and added that it would not be appropriate to conduct admissions based on those results.
