Shankar murder: Advisory board ratifies detention

The advisory board set up by the State government to review the detentions made under Goondas Act has ratified the detention of six accused in the Dalit youth Shankar murder case, according to police officers here.

The six accused Jagadeesan, M. Manikandan, Selvakumar, Kalai Tamilvannan, Dhanraj and Madan. With this, the Goondas Act slapped on nine accused in the said case had been ratified. Eleven persons have been named as accused in the case including the parents of Shankar’s wife Kousalya. Nine were detained.
