Booths inspected

The district administration has marked 164 polling booths as sensitive in the six Assembly constituencies here. In its wake, the District Election Officer and Collector C. Kathiravan inspected the booths on Saturday.

They include 33 sensitive booths in Uthangarai; 37 booths in Bargur; 16 sensitive booths in Krishnagiri; 32 booths in Vepanapalli, 24 polling booths in Hosur; and 22 polling booths in Thally.

The booths marked sensitive are being brought under a multi-tier security cover. Earlier, inspecting select booths in Krishnagiri, he said the security arrangements were being vetted in order to infuse confidence in the public to cast their votes without any fear.
