V.K. Sasikala, the aide of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, who is serving her sentence following her conviction in the disproportionate assets case, would visit her ailing husband M. Natarajan, whose condition is said to be critical, a supporter of her nephew T.T.V. Dhinakaran said here on Sunday. Mr. Natarajan is admitted to a private hospital here.

“He [Natarajan] is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and doctors were treating him,” Mr. Pugazhenthi, an ardent supporter of Mr. Dhinakaran said. When asked whether Sasikala has applied for a parole, he said, “As per rules governing prisoners, she cannot apply for parole to visit the same person within six months. We have applied [for parole] with a plea.” Sasikala was granted parole less than six months ago to meet her husband who had then undergone kidney and liver transplant.

Since it was a Sunday, the process on the plea was likely to begin on Monday, he added.
