The Assembly Assurances Committee reviewed here on Thursday the progress of works on the assurances given on the floor of the House.
The panel led by its Chairman and Madurai North MLA A.K. Bose included A. Aslam Basha (Ambur), Selvi Ramajayam (Bhuvanagiri), G. Bheem Rao (Maduravoyal), S. Madheswaran (Attur), M. Rajanayagam (Aranthangi) and G. Anbalagan (Kumbakonam).
Collector M. Mathivanan, Superintendent of Police T. Jeyachandran, District Revenue Officer (in charge) Alagirisamy, RDOs Muthumeenakshi (Tiruvarur) and Selvasurabhi (Mannargudi), heads of various government departments and officials participated in the deliberations. On Wednesday, the panel visited Nagapattinam district and held review meet with Collector S. Palanisamy and other officials there. During the review, Poompuhar MLA S. Pounraj, Vedaranyam MLA N.V. Kamaraj and Sirkali MLA M. Shakti joined the proceedings. A total of 279 assurances given on the floor of the House were taken up for discussion by the members. Officials gave detailed explanations to the progress on the works being undertaken.
