‘Revelations by police official worrisome’

H. Raja blames Dravidian parties for rot in the system

The revelations by the Karnataka Prisons Department DIG Roopa over the alleged concessions given to AIADMK (Amma) general secretary V.K. Sasikala were shocking and had exposed the rot in the system, H. Raja, BJP national secretary, said here on Saturday.

Addressing journalists at the airport here, he said the extent of the influence of money was worrisome. The Karnataka government should take serious note of the revelations by the police officer. The BJP’s Karnataka unit too had urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to take action in this regard, he said.

Both the AIADMK and the DMK were using money that they had amassed illegally to enjoy comfort even in prison. He also pointed to the ongoing probe into the alleged attempt by AIADMK (Amma) leader T.T.V. Dhinakaran to bribe an Election Commission official to retrieve the ‘Two Leaves’ symbol.

If the influence of money power in politics continued, it would be a serious threat to democracy. If the State had to get out of the abyss, it should get rid of the two Dravidian parties, he said.
