A retrenched PWD employee committed suicide on Friday night by consuming a poisonous substance in his house near Villianur. The deceased, Ganesan (42), lost his job last year along with 4000 other workers.
Around 4,000 staffers appointed during the tenure of V. Vaithilingam as Chief Minister, were removed citing financial constraint.
