Want EPFO’s circular quashed

The Indian Oil Retired Officers Welfare Association (SR) has moved the Madras High Court against the Employees Provident Fund Organisation’s (EPFO) decision not to give higher pension to employees of exempted organisations [whose provident fund is managed by a trust].

It demanded the quashing of the circular passed by the EPFO in August 2017, which stated that retired employees of exempted organisations are not eligible for higher pension, as per the directive of the Supreme Court.

A growing number of retired employees from exempted organisations are seeking legal recourse against the EPFO’s decision.
