July 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:41 am IST - SALEM:

All the temporary advertisement materials should be removed by the advertiser or the person concerned after six days, said District Collector K. Maharabushanam.

Chairing a meeting to regulate placing of hoarding and digital banners in public places by political parties and others, the collector said that only after obtaining permission from authorities concerned, banners or advertisement materials should be placed.

They should not cause inconvenience to the public. In case of placing advertisements within corporation limits, a no objection certificate should be obtained both from the corporation and from the police.

In case of highways, permission should be obtained from the Highways Department. After obtaining a no objection certificate, application should be submitted to the District Collector. Permission will be given only for six days.
