Good number of readers of The Hindu have come forward to help 8-year-old thalassemia major patient for whose treatment his poor mother is mobilising funds.

After The Hindu carried the news, ‘Poor mother’s battle to save her son,’ that detailed the tireless efforts of M. Dhanalakshmi from Palayamkottai in mobilising funds for treatment to save her son M. Kishore Kumar, a thalassemia major patient, many readers contacted the woman over phone to express their willingness to help her financially.
