Unclean hospitals
Most of the hospitals in Puducherry lack cleanliness. Foul smell emanate from these hospitals making the commuters and senior citizens uncomfortable.
The Indira Gandhi Government General Hospital lacks clean toilets. There is not even a drop of water available in those toilets. Recently, I had to go to Indira Gandhi Government General Hospital in Kathirkamam for an emergency check-up and I found that no water was available in the hospital toilets.
There was shortage of water in toilets in Jipmer.
Will the authorities look into this?

Train service
I would like to bring to the attention of the railway authorities to start a regular night passenger train service to Karaikal from Puducherry and vice versa immediately. This will help traders and business men to carry out the trade without any hassle. The present bus service does not benefit traders and businessmen.

Measures to be taken
After the Assembly election whichever political party comes to power, it should take up a few tasks on priority basis. Providing basic infrastructure and welfare measures are among them. They should also desilt canals and gutters, ensure efficient flood management, flood proofing including disaster preparedness and response planning, construct underground drainage and provide individual connection to the houses, lay and maintain proper roads including internal roads.
The government machinery should insist farmers to grow more crop for every drop of water used, supply purified drinking water, instruct the industries to recycle the water by suitable treatment, provide uninterrupted power supply, bear the cost of educating poor first generation students in professional courses. It should also develop infrastructure for tourism.
