Rameswaram fishermen plan for road roko on May 2

A meeting of 11 fishermen organisations on Saturday decided to conduct a road block agitation at Thangachimadam on May two demanding release of the 30 fishermen arrested by the Sri Lanka on March 6.

Presidents of the orgaisations M K Bose, N Devadoss and Emerite told reporters here that the fishermen were arrested with their five boats while they were fishing near Katchateevu.

The fishermen were lodged at Anuradhapuram prison in the island nation and remanded till May 6, they said.
