Pondicherry University gold medal winners Dr. Subashri, Dr. Immanuvel Paul Thayakaran, Dr. B. Janani, and Dr. Kolli Kalyani were felicitated in the programme.
College Dean Dr. Sugumaran Annamalai presented the Annual Report. Founder Chairperson of Ramachandra Education Trust Radha Ramachandran, Managing Director Rajiv Krishna, General Manager Soundararajan and MLA C. Djeacoumar participated.
Christ College abuzz with placements
As the academic year draws to a close, many colleges are buzzing with placement programmes, and it has been no different at the Christ College of Engineering and Technology in Puducherry either.
Offer letters were given to as many as 277 students in campus placements which have been held over the past six months, in which more than 40 companies participated, said a release from the college.
Director-Principal of the college A. Ravichandiran give the offer letters to the students and advised them to develop their leadership qualities and interpersonal skills to excel in the future.
He congratulated them on their achievement. Students were selected in various companies like Cognizant Technology Solutions, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, NTT Data, CSS Corp, Sutherland, Polaris, HCL, IBM, TATA AIA life Insurance, Adaptavant Technology and Reliance Communications.
Dean L.J. Soundararajan, School of Management Studies and K. Nakkeeran, Dean, School of Engineering also felicitated the students.
‘Be respectful and responsible’
Stressing on the important role of stakeholders in the development of an educational institution, V. Sujatha, Principal, Cauvery College for Women, Tiruchirapalli, addressed students at the College Day programme of the Theivanai Ammal College, Villupuram.
A.V. Arunakumar, Principal, Theivanai Ammal College, presented the Annual Report. E. Swamikannu, Founder of E.S. Institutions appreciated the college management, staff and students on their achievements, while telling the students to be respectful and responsible.
The Department of Business Administration was awarded the Best Department of the Year.
Harinjaya Snandhaveni, a B. Com student was awarded the Best Outgoing Student (under graduation) award, and K.H. Shanmugapriya was awarded the Best Outgoing Student (post graduation) award. Both students were given laptops.
