The District Elections Department, in its latest effort to promote voting among residents of Vellore, has put up a board filled with colourful balloons, amidst the hustling Green Circle. The balloons formed a message ‘May 16 Vote 100 per cent’, to bring in more people to polling booths on May 16, a press release said.

Following this, Collector and District Election Officer R. Nanthagopal handed over bags containing the message ‘May 16 – get ready to vote for 100 per cent’ to customers at a textile showroom. He also handed over pamphlets to the customers on the importance of exercising one’s voting rights.
