The Chennai Police has referred a letter that warned DMK MP Kanimozhi of dire consequences to the cyber crime wing for investigation.
According to police sources, the letter issued under the head ‘Harkat Al-Shabaab Al-Mujahideen’ and signed by one Haji. Gul Md. Hussain was sent to Ms. Kanimozhi last week. It warned of an attack on her for refusing financial support.
“Since there is a reference to an email address, we have referred the letter to investigators in the cyber crime wing. As of now, no decision has been taken on providing security to Ms. Kanimozhi,” a senior police official said.
