PMK to use social media

March 07, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - KRISHNAGIRI:

The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) will use the social media to rally around the youth, who constitute 65 per cent of the 5.64 crore electorate in the State, said Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss, the party’s chief ministerial candidate for 2016.

Reposing his faith in women and youth for the party’s bid to power in 2016, Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss, said PMK’s anti-corruption and anti-liquor policy for governance will fetch him the support of these two constituencies.

Asked if a principled approach devoid of electoral promise of freebies would fetch the PMK the results, Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss said he reposed his faith on the youth and women.

Outlining his vision for 2016 on education, employment, industry, and governance, the PMK leader said, if voted to power, there will be no freebies and instead the government will invest on standardised education.

“At present, there is an MRP for each post, and corruption under the AIADMK hit a new high in the post-independence history of the State. Removal of corruption will help in employment of the youth,” said Dr. Ramadoss.

The per capita debt in the State was Rs. 56,000 and this was accrued over in the past four years since 2011. However, there was no tangible infrastructure to point to the expenditure incurred by the government. “Earlier, people had no viable alternative to the two Dravidian parties. But today, PMK has promised them a politics of difference.”
