As many as 370 PMK men were arrested in 27 places of Tiruvannamalai district while attempting to paste stickers in protest against Tasmac shops that are located along highways.

They complained that despite the Supreme Court order to close the liquor shops along the national and state highways, the Tamil Nadu government was reluctant to close them. “Hence PMK wanted to paste stickers in those shops that run in violation of the Supreme Court order ,” said R. Kalidoss, State deputy general secretary of the PMK. He took part in the protest that held at a shop located in front of Tiruvannamalai bus stand.

“There are 10 such shops in Tiruvannamalai town alone that violate SC order. Before we could move to those shops and paste stickers police arrested us,” said Kalidoss. They were all released in the evening.
