Pattali Makkal Katchi president G. K. Mani has called upon the State government to learn from past mistakes and come out immediately with effective water harvesting and management systems.

“Even after getting rain now, the farmers have to stare at a possible drought in another few months due to lack of productive water management systems in place in the State.

“The situation is remaining the same for the past many decades with people having to bear the brunt of drought soon after monsoons and floods,” he told The Hindu on the sidelines of a party function near Avinashi on Sunday.
