To mark the celebration of Valvil Ori festival, a flower expo and tourist vizha will be held at Kolli Hills on August 1 and 2. A photography competition would also be held in which interested people can participate.
Participants, including the public and professional photographers, can take pictures of important tourist spots in the district and submit it in 12x8 size print format and also in DVD.
Any number of pictures can be sent by an individual and selected pictures will be used for advertisements made by the tourism department or by the district administration.
The rear side of the photographs should have details such as name of the participant, address, mobile number and other details. Cash award of Rs. 3,000 will be given as first prize, Rs. 2,000 as second prize and Rs. 1,000 as third prize. Winners will be presented the award during the prize distribution ceremony to be held at Kolli Hills on August 2. Photographs should have been taken recently and should be submitted to Tourism Officer, Room No 33, District Collector Officer ground floor, Namakkal – 637 003 either through post or in person by 5 p.m. on July 28.
