Pensioners asked to appear for mustering

The Tamil Nadu government pensioners/family pensioners, who have been drawing pension through the district treasuries and sub-treasuries under the Pilot Scheme, have been asked to appear for mustering from April 1 to June 30 on all working days.

Essential requirements

Pensioners appearing in person should bring pension payment order book, bank pass book indicating the core banking savings book account number, income tax PAN card, ration card, Aadhaar card (if available). Family pensioners should produce non-remarriage certificate along with the above mentioned five documents, according to a press release.

For those who are unable to appear in person, the Life Certificate along with a copy of the mentioned five documents can be sent.

The Life Certificate should be attested by anyone of the authorities — bank manager of the pension receiving branch/gazetted officer of State or Central government/tahsildar or deputy tahsildar or revenue inspector.

For those abroad

Pensioners who are abroad can send the Life Certificate duly certified by a magistrate/notary/banker/diplomatic representative of Government of India abroad.

Pensioners should intimate the present residential address, mobile number and e-mail ID (if available).

Payment of pension will be stopped from the month of August for those who fail to appear for the annual mustering or furnish Life Certificate till June 30. The format of Life Certificate and Non remarriage certificates are available at the website — www.tn.gov.in/karuvoolam that can be downloaded.

This does not apply for pensioners/family pensioners drawing pension through public sector bank scheme, TNEB, railway, post and telegraph, EPF scheme, Central government and local body, the release added.
