Pay fees online

The Periyar University has introduced the online payment of fees scheme for the benefit of students of the university and its affiliated colleges.

C. Swaminathan, Vice-Chancellor, launched the scheme at a function held at the university on Tuesday.

He said that the university, in recent times, has adopted various new technological resources for e-governance, and for the betterment of the students and administration.

He said that Periyar University has been successfully implementing online payment of the examination fees, intimation of results to students through SMS, and digitisation of research thesis. The new initiative will make the University a cashless and paperless campus.

Sanjay Sharma, General Manager of Union Bank of India, Chennai, was the chief guest. He explained the the new scheme.

V. M. Murugesan, Finance Officer of Periyar University; M. Manivannan, Registrar; S. Leela, Controller of Examinations; university professors, principals of affiliated colleges, and students were present.
