The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department has made arrangements for parking of vehicles at Sri Tirunageswaram temple near Kumbakonam.
According to official sources, a large number of devotees and pilgrims visit the temple particularly during the week-end and the parking of vehicles poses a serious problem. Hence, the HR and CE has allotted about five cents of land for parking the vehicles.
The HR and CE had fixed a nominal rent for the parking of vehicles.
Work on the construction of the parking shed would be completed within a month. More amenities would also be provided at the area, depending upon the visitors’ needs, the sources told The Hindu on Wednesday.
