The inquiry commission constituted to study the Moulivakkam building collapse will submit its report to the State government in two months, its chairperson Justice (retd.) R. Reghupathy said on Friday.

After inspecting the site in the morning, Mr. Reghupathy said he obtained the records and documents from the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority for scrutiny.

He said he would call for records from other departments such as Public Works and Revenue.

“I will study the reports submitted by various other departments to find out where things went wrong. I will also make suggestions on how such errors can be avoided in future.”

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa appointed the one-man commission to find out the reasons for the crash.

She had said the government would take action based on the commission’s report.
