A total of 110 officials and employees of the Rural Development Department including five women were arrested for blocking the Arcot Road opposite to the Collectorate here on Thursday morning.

The agitators belonging to all groups of the Tamil Nadu Rural Development Department Officials Association were pressing for their 15-point charter of demands which included immediate filling of all vacancies in the department and regularising the services of computer assistants and others.
