One more may defect from DMDK

The Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), led by actor Vijayakant, is likely to lose the support of one more member in the Assembly, as K. Pandiarajan, elected from Virudhunagar, is likely to meet Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in a day or two and extend support to her government.

So far six DMDK MLAs have switched their loyalty to the Chief Minister. Besides Mr Pandiarajan, founder of Mafoi, a leading HR Services Company in the country, some more MLAs are also expected to meet the Chief Minister.

According to party sources, Mr Pandiarajan was unhappy with the leadership for quite sometime and skipped the party meeting organised recently in Tirupur.

He had been with the BJP before joining the DMDK. He contested unsuccessfully from the Virudhunagar Lok Sabha constituency in the 2009 general elections.

“Though he is contributing well as a public personality and debater, he found himself sidelined and his position was diluted in the party organisations,” the sources said.
