Ocher Enterprises Private Ltd, in which Tamil film superstar Rajnikanth’s wife Latha and daughter Soundarya are directors, is one of the over 12,000 companies struck off by Registrar of Companies (ROC) in Chennai, according to information available on Ministry of Corporate Affairs website.

The exercise is part of the Centre’s nationwide crackdown on more than 2 lakh shell companies and its directors.

A list of 12,134 companies have been struck off from the Register of companies and the said companies are dissolved as on June 29, 2017, said a notice from Sridhar Pamarthi, Registrar of Companies, Chennai, which was made public recently.

The ROC noted that the company has not been carrying on any business or operation for a period of two immediately preceding financial years and has not made any application within such period for obtaining the status of dormant company under Section 455 of the Companies Act, 2013. Therefore, it struck off the name of Ocher Enterprises Private Ltd from the register.

Soundarya Rajinikanth and Latha Rajinikanth are among the names of directors struck off from the register of companies.

Soundarya produced the Tamil film Goa under the Ocher Picture Productions banner. She made her directorial debut with Kochadaiyaan, starring Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone. She recently directed Velai illa Pattathari 2 (VIP 2) starring her brother-in-law Dhanush and Bollywood actor Kajol.
