Noon meal workers suspended

November 24, 2016 12:00 am | Updated December 02, 2016 05:15 pm IST - RAMANATHAPURAM:

Collector S. Natarajan has placed under suspension two noon meal organisers posted at RS Mangalam Panchayat Union Middle School on the charge of dereliction of duty.

The two noon meal organisers – Muthazhagu, working at Kottakudi, and Thangavelu at Sethidal -- were not present at the centres when Collector’s Personal Assistant (Noon Meal) Ganapathy made surprise inspections on November 17 and 23.

Both the organisers had not only absented themselves without prior intimation or availing leave, but failed to maintain the registers and other records properly, Mr. Natarajan said. He ordered their suspension based on the report submitted by Mr. Ganapathy.

Mr. Natarajan warned that all noon meal organisers in the district should report at their respective centres at 9 a.m. and be present till 1.30 p.m. after distributing noon meal to students.
