No work allotted to Justice Karnan 

The Chief Justice of Madras High Court S.K. Kaul has decided not to allocate any work to the controversial judge.

A day after the high drama witnessed in the Indian judiciary with Justice C.S. Karnan staying an order of the Chief Justice of India, transferring him to Calcutta High Court, the Chief Justice of Madras High Court S.K. Kaul has decided not to allocate any work to the controversial judge.

The Chief Justice of the High Court has made the decision exercising the option given by the Supreme Court on Monday, that it is up to him to decide whether or not to assign future work to Justice Karnan.

Acting on an urgent plea moved by the Madras High Court Registry, the Supreme Court while restraining Justice Karnan from passing any suo motu orders said, "It will be open to the Chief Justice of the High Court not to assign any administrative/ judicial work to him."
