Renuka, mother of S. Induja, who sustained injuries while trying to save her daughter set ablaze by a stalker, succumbed to burns at a private hospital in Vanagaram on Tuesday.

Induja, the 21-year-old IT engineer, was doused with fuel and burnt alive at her home in Adambakkam by her former classmate after she reportedly rejected his proposal for marriage. Renuka and Indhuja’s sister, Nivedha, who rushed to her rescue, suffered severe burns.
