Moneylender assaulted

P. Nambiraj (42) of Avudayar Puram, a moneylender was allegedly attacked by an unidentified person here on Thursday evening. According to police sources, the incident occurred while he was travelling alone in his vehicle on Balavinayagar Kovil Street in Tuticorin. He sustained stab injuries on his shoulder and right chest after the accused assaulted him with a knife. The victim was admitted to Tuticorin Government Hospital. Based on a complaint lodged by Muruganandham (18), son of victim, Tuticorin Central police have filed a case.
