Model school comes up

A new model high school in rural Keezhamathur in Kunnam taluk has been established with laboratories and other facilities. Constructed on eight acres, the school has 14 classrooms and separate prayer halls for boys and girls.

Besides, the school has a ramp for differently-abled students and separate laboratories for maths, chemistry and biology subjects.

A library equipped with Rs. 3-lakh worth books; a separate waiting hall for parents and a separate toilet for the differently-abled also form part of the slew of facilities at the new school.

Public address system has been installed in every floor.

Constructed at a cost of Rs.5.11 crore, the school was inaugurated by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa through video conference from Chennai on Monday, an official press release here said.
