A man reportedly killed his 22-year-old daughter, and committed suicide at Arapakkam.
According to the police attached to Ratnagiri station, Naseer, 55, was residing on Masudhi Street in Arapakkam with his daughter Yasmeen. His wife had died 15 years ago. Following a head injury in a road accident, Naseer was unable to speak or go for work. At 6 a.m. on Friday, a resident had informed Naseer’s brother-in-law Rahmatullah, that he was found floating in a well. Rahmatullah rushed to the spot and found Naseer’s body in the well.
When he went to the house, he found Yasmeen dead. Police said Naseer had killed his daughter by throwing a stone on her head and then jumped into the well. A stone with blood stains was found in the house. A case has been filed based on a complaint from Rahmatullah. Police have registered a case of murder and death due to drowning.
