Integration of multiple Provident Fund accounts facilitates seamless benefits to members such as pension, insurance and payouts on superannuation, according to P. Senthil Kumar, Regional PF Commissioner.
A release issued by the Commissioner said members should link all their PF account numbers with the UAN issued to them and also seed KYC data against their UAN number. EPFO would make Aadhaar the primary identifier. In case members had Aadhaar-seeded UAN, there would not be any requirement of attestation by the employers for claims.
The establishments had been advised to upload and digitally authenticate the KYC information, he said in the release, adding that as on April 25, 6.77-crore UANs had been issued.
A special drive to consolidate multiple accounts of an employee under the slogan ‘One employee, one EPF account (UAN)’ was launched in October 2014, he said.
