The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) has completed land acquisition for the entire stretch of Outer Ring Road from 56 villages on the outskirts.
The Revenue Department of Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram received the land plan schedule for 552.93 hectares of land from the CMDA. It has acquired the land from owners.
So far, the CMDA has taken possession of the 62-km strip of land in 56 villages in the two districts. “The bottlenecks to the development of the entire road have been cleared,” said an official associated with the project.
The second phase covering 27 villages connected by 32.8 km of the road will gain momentum with this. The second phase will be developed connecting villages of Nemilicheri, Thiruninravur, Palavedu, Mukhthapudupattu, Mitnamalli, Pulikutti, Venambakkam, Morai, Vellanur, Pammadukulam, Attanthangal, Vijayanallur, Nallur, Vellacheri, Padianallur, Pannivakkam, Siruniyam, Sothupakkam, Angadu, Kummanur, Marambedu, Kandigai, Arumandai, Pudupakkam, Periyamullavoyal, Chinnamullavoyal, Valudhigaimedu, Seemapuram and Minjur. Many stretches covering the first phase of the road have been developed.
