After a considerable time away from movie sets, actor Kamal Haasan has started shooting for Vishwaroopam 2 , aiming for a January 2018 release.

This will be Kamal Haasan’s most significant film considering the circumstances under which the film will be releasing.

Not only has it been almost two years since the release of his last film Thoongavanam in 2015, Vishwaroopam 2 will also be the actor’s first release post his surprise announcement that he would enter electoral politics.

While the first instalment of Vishwaroopam faced severe opposition from Muslim organisations and parties, it remains to be seen how the second film will be received.

Those close to the actor confirmed the development, but did not commit on a January 2018 release. “The new CBFC rules state that a film must be sent for certification at least 60 days before. So, a January release may be difficult,” said a person in the team.
