AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa has demanded Election Commission to transfer C. Chandrasekar, Superintendent of Police, Special Branch (SSB, Chennai) accusing him of helping the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam to distribute money to voters.
“She accused that the official was the brother-in-law of School Education Minister Thangam Thennarasu. Hence he should be transferred so as to conduct the elections in a free and fair manner.”
Ms. Jayalalithaa addressed campaign meetings at Karimangalam and Odasalpatti in Dharmapuri district and Krishnagiri town on Saturday.
She said “Assembly election is an opportunity to root out the corrupt DMK government headed by Chief Minister Karunanidhi. Mr. Karunanidhi has swindled crores of public money in the name of numerous welfare schemes to amass wealth for his family,” she alleged.
The DMK government failed to control rising inflation, deteriorating law and order situation, as the DMK men were indulging in Kangaroo courts (Katta Panchayat), spiralling cement prices, rampant smuggling of ration rice.
Ms. Jayalalithaa said if the AIADMK alliance is voted to power, she will make the State surplus in power generation.
She assured the people of Dharmapuri of constructing a bridge on Chinnar and also to bring water from Panchapalli dam, setting up a government engineering college and an arts college.
Speaking at Krishnagiri, Ms. Jayalalithaa said that if AIADMK is elected, the government will establish a medical college, upgrade the district headquarters hospital, speed up the Hogenakkal Drinking Water and Flurosis Mitigation Scheme, set up a sugar mill and cold storage facility for Krishnagiri district.
