Inflow into Mettur Dam increases

The inflow into Mettur Dam registered further increase on Sunday.

The inflow which stood at 4,712 cusecs on Saturday rose to 5,159 cusecs on Sunday.

The water level in the dam rose to 45.15 feet against its full level of 120 feet.

The storage level stood at 14.89 tmc.

Due to the increased inflow, the water level in the dam rose by 2.65 feet in the last one week.

About 2,000 cusecs of water is being discharged from the dam for meeting the drinking water needs of the delta region, Public Works Department sources said.
