Inflow from Karnataka dams touches 10,000 cusecs

The inflow of water from Karnataka dams increased to 10,000 cubic feet per second (cusecs) on Thursday at Biligundlu in Krishnagiri district, the point where Cauvery water enters Tamil Nadu, Central Water Commission officials said. The inflow was 6,200 cusecs in the afternoon, but touched 10,000 in the evening.

In view of the increase in the flow in the river, bathing by tourists in the water falls at Hogenakkal in Dharmapuri district and the use of coracles have been banned.
