An Indian national in Singapore was jailed on Tuesday for four weeks for molesting a woman in a lift at a train station.

Kandasamy Krishnan, 27, who works in an electrical company, pleaded guilty to grabbing the arm of a 28-year-old Filipino woman in an attempt to kiss her in the lift at Serangoon station on March 7 this year.

Assistant Public Prosecutor Asran Samad said the victim and Kandasamy had alighted at the station at Upper Serangoon Road at about 7.45 a.m. that day.

When she took the lift to get to the street level, Kandasamy followed her and rushed in as the lift door was about to close, reported the Straits Times.
