Increased inflow into Mettur Dam

The Mettur Dam is getting increased inflow since Saturday morning.

The inflow into the dam which remained at 4,214 cusecs on Friday evening, rose to 5,083 cusecs on Saturday morning.

According to reports received here, the River Cauvery is receiving increased inflow at Hogenakkal.

The inflow which stood at a little more than 5,000 cusecs rose to 7,200 cusecs on Saturday. The water level in the dam stood at 64.89 feet against the full level of 120 feet. The storage level in the dam stood at 28,464 cusecs.

The discharge from the dam was 500 cusecs for meeting the drinking water needs of the delta districts.

The hill station of Yercaud experienced a rainfall of 34 m.m. in the last 24 hours that ended at 8 a.m. on Saturday.

Omalur town and surrounding areas experienced 3 m.m. rainfall.

Salem city received a total of 1.9 m.m. rain during the same period.
