A hotelier, N.Chandrashekar, and his wife Arthi were allegedly stabbed by a hotel employee here on Saturday.
According to the police, the employee, Basavaraj (45), had entered the house of the couple without their knowledge and hidden under a cot on Friday night.
During the small hours of Saturday, he had reportedly attacked Mr.Chandrashekar with a knife. With Ms.Arthi going to her husband’s rescue, both had sustained knife injuries.
Basavaraj was overpowered and with the help of others who had rushed to the spot, handed over to the police.
Mr. Chandrashekar and his wife were admitted in a private nursing home here.
Stating that efforts were on to establish the motive for the attack, the police pointed out that Basavaraj was an ex-convict who had undergone imprisonment in a murder case a few years ago.
