Herbal Park planned at Railway Colony

The Salem Railway Division has proposed to set up an herbal plant park at the Salem Railway Colony.

Hari Shankar Verma, Divisional Railway Manager, held discussion with the officials and the members of the Salem Tree Club here on Monday in this regard.

Mr. Verma visited the Railway Colony on Monday in connection with the Rail Customer Facilitation Week and inspected the park that is getting ready in the colony. The park will have a walking track. The DRM planted saplings in the presence of members of Salem Tree Club. He also discussed with the members of the Tree Club on the idea of creating an herbal plant park in the Salem Railway Colony and interacted with the residents. A total of 1,000 saplings were planted in the railway colonies in the Salem division limits, according to a press release. Later, Mr. Verma heard the grievances of 37 employees. A majority of the grievances were in connection with transfers, non-receipt of arrears, request of waiver of penaltyfor over-staying in the quarters.
