The Madras High Court Bench here on Tuesday subjected actor Dhanush to physical examination by a government doctor to verify whether he had certain visible identification marks on his body, as mentioned by an elderly couple who had initiated legal proceedings, claiming that he was their biological son.

After the actor appeared before Justice G. Chockalingam, in compliance with an order passed by the latter on February 24, the judge directed the Registrar (Judicial) of the High Court Bench, G. Ilangovan, to make arrangements for verification of the identification marks by a government doctor not below the rank of Senior Civil Surgeon.

The doctor, in turn, was directed to verify whether the actor had a mole on his left collar bone and a scar on his left forearm, as mentioned in the school transfer certificate of K. Kalaichelvan, the son of Melur-based couple R. Kathiresan (65) and K. Meenakshi (53), who had filed a maintenance case against the actor at a lower court in November last.

The physician was also ordered to issue a certificate stating “whether it is possible to erase the above identification marks from the body of the above said person and if possible, whether any traces are available for the removal of the above said identification marks from the body of the petitioner.”

Justice Chockalingam directed the Registrar (Judicial) to make necessary arrangements for the verificationand submit a report to the court.

Within minutes of the order being passed, the actor was examined at the chambers of Registrar (Judicial) before being allowed to leave the court. Film director R. Kasthoory Raja and his wife K. Vijayalakshmi, whom the actor had claimed to be his biological parents, were not allowed inside the Registrar’s chambers at the time of examination.
