Gets accreditation

The Kalyani Kidney Care Centre here ranks among 33 private hospitals in the State and is first in the district to secure NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) accreditation.

The hospital has received a certification from the NABH stating that the accreditation, granted based on various parameters under patient safety and quality of care, will be effective from May 22, 2017, to May 21, 2020.

The NABH is a constituent board of Quality Council of India, set up to establish and operate accreditation programme for healthcare organisations. The board, structured to cater to needs of the consumers and set benchmarks for progress of health industry, is an institutional member of the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQUA), an international apex body which grants approval to Accreditation Bodies in the area of healthcare.

Congratulating the hospital on obtaining the accreditation, an NABH communication appreciated the adoption of Quality Management Systems in Healthcare overcoming the challenges in this sector.

According to official statistics, only 458 out of 79,145 hospitals are accredited in then country. Of them, 33 are in Tamil Nadu. The accredited hospitals are empaneled with Medical Tourism Facilitators approved by NABH.
