PMK founder S. Ramadoss on Wednesday welcomed the arrest of the deputy general secretary of AIADMK (Amma), T.T.V. Dhinakaran, by the New Delhi police on charges of attempting to bribe Election Commission (EC) officials for retrieving the ‘Two Leaves’ symbol. He also called for the party symbol to be frozen permanently.

Terming the arrest of Mr. Dhinakaran as belated, he said that the alleged attempt to bribe an EC official should be seen as a continuation of efforts to make sure that the State government survives, akin to when AIADMK MLAs were taken to a resort in Kuvathur and the subsequent attempts by the party to win the Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar bypoll by distributing huge quantities of cash and gifts to voters.
